Whangārei’s isite Information Centre now has a new cafe offering residents and visitors refreshments as they pass through.

People who enjoyed the options on offer at The Cabbage Tree Cafe on Rathbone Street will recognise owners Anna Xu and Henry Wu, and the new cafe’s name – The Cabbage Tree Cafe.

Reana Te Hei, Whangārei isite Team Leader, says the cafe is already busy with curious locals and tourists.

The visitor centre, built in the 1990s, was designed with visitors' needs in mind – free parking, a playground, toilet and shower facilities, an information centre and a cafe.

The isite is a one-stop shop for the many manuhiri (guests) we welcome to Whangārei 364 days a year.

Like the isite, The Cabbage Tree Cafe is open seven days a week, closed only on Christmas Day. The cafe’s hours are 7:00am to 4:30pm. The isite hours are 9:00am to 4:30pm.
