A beautiful new bridge

Te Parawhau hapū, Hawthorne Geddes Engineers and Boffa Miskell Landscape Architects, Canam Commercial Ltd and Culham Engineering have all collaborated on the project.

The new bridge reflects the culture, history and environment of the area. The aim was to create something meaningful and beautiful that people will go out of their way to see in future.

As part of the Raumanga shared path extension, the bridge is wider with better views, and has higher sides than the previous bridge to keep cyclists safe.

The $1.9 million project has been funded through our Neighbourhood and Public Garden Renewals budget and Waka Kotahi’s Shared Paths funding.
