In 2025, Council will be providing new pedestrian infrastructure to connect local locations. This includes constructing some new footpaths on Kopipi Crescent and Pine Road in Ngunguru. 

This work follows on from the recently upgraded Whale Tail Park playground located between Ngunguru Road and Pine Road. 

The concept design currently includes:

  • new footpaths
  • new kerb and channelling (minor road widening)
  • minor drainage and signage upgrades
  • new bollards and upgraded playground frontage
  • a new pedestrian-friendly connection to the Ngunguru Sports Complex.

During construction, brief detours will be in place for minor closures. There will also be several areas where parking will be restricted to allow two-way traffic flow. Clear signage will be posted to indicate these restrictions, and traffic-control personnel will be on-site during work hours to direct the community and to keep everyone safe.
