Under Sections 24, 25 and 120 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Whangarei District Council proposed to revoke the reserve status from Lot 1 DP 427274, which was strategically acquired in 2009 for the ongoing management of Whangarei District Council’s water reticulation system.
This parcel of land is no longer required due to the acquisition and designation of an alternative site, being Section 1 SO 493018 – The Whau Valley Water Treatment Plant.

Feedback will be considered by Whangarei District Council and then a report will be forwarded to the Minister of Conservation to make a final determination on whether the reserve status will be revoked.
