Compost

For unavoidable food waste like eggshells and banana skins that you wouldn’t normally eat, composting is a great option.

Food scraps are valuable organic resources that can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions if they are sent to landfill.  Don’t let a good thing go to waste and instead return the nutrients to the soil by composting.

There’s a few different methods out there from traditional composting, worm farming to bokashi, each with their own benefits.

Get started with composting

EcoSolutions run a free Compost Connection mentoring programme to give you the knowledge you need to set up and run your own system at home.  They will help you chose the best option for your household and provide ongoing support and advice once the system is set up at your home.

By taking part in the workshops, you will have the opportunity to purchase a composting bin system to suit your household’s needs, at a heavily discounted price.
