Pay for dog registration or other dog fees

If you have received your dog registration invoice in the mail, there are a number of ways you can pay for your dog registration or a replacement registration tag. 

  • Online:  pay online with your credit or debit card
  • By phone:  call with your credit or debit card details
  • In person:  come into one of our customer service centres with cash, credit or debit card
  • Internet banking:  pay via internet banking.

Please note that there are no fees charged if you pay by credit card.

Online

Step 1.Have your card available

Pay using a credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard only). We do not charge a fee for online credit card payments.

Step 2.You'll need your reference

You will need your Dog ID, which is the animal number shown on your dog registration invoice. The number is in the 'WDC ID'column, next to the dog's name. This will ensure we identify the correct dog(s).

Step 3.Pay online

Once you click on the "Pay online" button you will be redirected to our secure payments website.

By using our payment website, you are agreeing to our Online Service Terms and Conditions.

Pay online 

You can pay for one or more dogs at the same time.

  • Simply enter the Dog ID into the 'Animal number' field and follow the instructions until you get to the shopping cart. 
  • Click ‘Save Cart’ to save the animal number.
  • If you want to add another Dog ID, click the ‘Dog Registration’ link in the left navigation.
  • Continue until all Dog IDs (animal numbers) have been added.
  • Within the shopping cart, tick the Dog IDs (animal numbers) you want to pay and click 'Proceed'.
  • Check the payment summary and click 'Complete'.
  • Enter your card details to make the payment.

A receipt will be issued after payment.

Step 4.Receive dog registration tag(s)

Once the registration fees have been paid, we will send you the physical dog registration tag(s) to put onto your dog's collar, via the post.

By phone

You will receive the physical dog registration tag(s) to put onto your dog’s collar and a payment receipt.

Internet banking

Step 1.You'll need your reference

You will need your Dog ID, which is the animal number shown on your dog registration invoice. The number is in the 'WDC ID'column, next to the dog's name. This will ensure we identify the correct dog(s).

Step 2.Pay registration

We are listed as a bill payee with your bank.  Search for "Whangarei District" in the payee list and select one of the payment types.

Pay the amount listed on the invoice.

When making an internet bank payment please use the correct code and reference types.
