If an application for a Code Compliance Certificate has not been made within 24 months from the date the building consent was granted, the Council must decide whether to issue the Code Compliance Certificate.
If the building work is still in progress, extending this time frame can be arranged. We will contact you to advise you of your options.
If you do not apply for Code Compliance Certificate or agree to an extension of time, we will make a decision to either issue or the refuse the issue of the Code Compliance Certificate.
Following a full technical review, to ensure that all aspects of the building consent have been satisfied, including any documentation requirements, if we can, we will issue the Code Compliance Certificate.
If your consent was issued after 1 September 2021, you can log into Objective Build and request an extension of time. If issued before this date, we generally get in contact with applicants at the 11-month stage with instructions as to how they can extend the time if required. We will remind you as these deadlines approach and advise the steps that you can take, like extending the timeframes.
