Coastal Management

The Coastal Management Strategy promotes better coastal management at a district and local level, while also giving important direction for regional planning in Northland.

The Strategy also provides a framework for the preparation of Coastal Structure Plans in local communities. Initially, Structure Plans will be developed in high priority areas, where there are potential threats to how we live, work, play or protect the coastal environment.
