On behalf of the Northland Regional Council, we will be carrying out public transport improvements to make the public bus stops safer, easier to access and more appealing to our customers across sites in the Morningside, Raumanga, Otaika and Kamo areas:

  • 13 / 20 Arcus Street, Otaika
  • High Street / Lancaster Place intersection, Otaika / Raumanga
  • High Street / Collingwood Street intersection, Raumanga
  • 214 Morningside Road, Morningside
  • 171 Morningside Road, Morningside
  • 101 Morningside Road, Morningside
  • 124 Morningside Road, Morningside
  • 22 and 25 Station Road, Kamo
  • Reeves Place and Fairburn Street intersection, Raumanga.

The project includes installing new seats and shelters, minor footpath and drainage connections to improve bus stop locations, new and improved signage and road markings, trimming and removing vegetation, and other concrete works to make the selected bus stops easier to see and safer.

These improvements are focused on bus stops that form part of school bus routes and other areas where safety issues have been identified (for example, drivers reporting near-miss incidents).
