Nova Scotia Drive in Waipū is receiving road-safety improvements to make it safer around the curved section of the road.

Work will start 15 January 2024 and will be put on a temporary hold from 26 February through to early May due to the closure of the Brynderwyns.

What we are doing on Nova Scotia Drive

  • Widening shoulders
  • Installing new safety barriers
  • Laying down new high-skid resistance pavement
  • Improving drainage

What to expect

Drainage work will begin 15 January 2024 and will be put on hold temporarily during the Brynderwyn's closure. The rest of the works are expected to be complete by December 2024, depending on weather conditions.

A lane closure will be in place in Nova Scotia Drive to manage traffic safely around the working area.

Please follow all traffic management signs and instructions from the traffic controllers to ensure your safety and that of our workers.
