Smokefree and Vapefree Policy

This policy supports Central Government’s goal of smokefree New Zealand by 2025. It sets out policies and actions which will deliver a smokefree Whangārei.

Our parks, playgrounds, outdoor dining, beaches and all other public places are smokefree and vapefree.

Māori Ward Poll

At the Local Elections 2025, electors will be asked to vote in a poll on whether to keep or remove the Whangārei District Māori Ward.
