) on the next working day.

We aim to acknowledge issues within two working days and resolve them within 15 working days, although complex queries may take longer.

We maintain the Maunu, Te Kamo and Onerahi cemeteries as well as several historic cemeteries.

Management of Council owned property

Council owns a small number of properties that are leased to organisations or contracted under license to individuals or businesses.  These may include properties such as:

  • grazing land
  • commercial buildings
  • community buildings
  • sport facilities on parks
  • other structures or buildings.

Council own and manage a number of buildings in the District such as:

  • commercial buildings (Council owned)
  • central city carpark
  • pensioner housing
  • residential housing
  • council offices
  • council libraries
  • community halls (maintenance only)

If you notice an issue with cleanliness at one of our District’s public toilets, please let us know.  We will try to fix the problem as soon as possible.
