Locate your water, sewer and stormwater pipes

Before you carry out work on your property it is important to check what is underground, such as water, sewer (wastewater), and stormwater pipes.

The location of these services and other public infrastructure like watermains, water meters and fire hydrants can be found using the following:

Online

Step 1.Search online

Basic information on the location of water, sewer and wastewater networks can be found on the Assets map within our online property maps.

Assets - GIS Maps

Enter an address within the search and click 'Zoom to'.  You can turn layers on and off by clicking 'Layers' in the toolbar and selecting the networks you want to view.  You can also click on a network point or line to view more information.

Step 2.Can't find what you need?

Watermains

If you can’t find the information you want in the GIS system, or need to dig near a Council watermain, you can request us to locate it for you. Please allow at least 5 working days before the start of any work to make sure that a site visit can be scheduled.
