The Quarry Arts Centre invites you to a vibrant and joyful journey into the world of ceramic glazes. Join us for an exciting workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to transform your bisque-fired pottery into stunning, colourful creations!

This beginner-friendly session, led by experienced tutor and noted Northland ceramicist Julie Cromwell, is designed as an introduction for anyone eager to explore the art of glazing in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Throughout this two-hour workshop, you’ll dive into the basics of glaze application, discovering a spectrum of techniques that will ignite your creativity. From low fire, mid fire to high fire, you’ll learn about various ceramic firing ranges and experiment with a wonderful array of potter’s choice glazes, celadon glazes, and satin matte glazes.

Get ready to unleash your imagination as you explore glaze application tips, learn about colour variation and mixing, and master the art of layering to achieve beautiful results.

Included are a range of Amaco high fire glazes, one bowl, several test tiles and firing. You are welcome to bring along your own existing bisque work and inquire about your own choice of glazes.
