CancelledAdults Ceramic Stack Totem Making Workshop

The Quarry Arts Centre welcomes adults to join us and begin creating their own ceramic stack totem! 

Over two days (set two weeks apart), you will be encouraged to develop hand-building and glazing application skills and bring your imaginative ideas to life as a series of small ceramic pieces stack together to become a beautiful ceramic stack totem that can stand out in the garden. 

Choose either Saturday 11 & 25 January, or Sunday 12 & 26 January.

First workshop: Clay hand-building

Using raw slab clay, you will be taught how to design and sculpt round 3D and plate pieces, which will make up your vertical stack (with steel rod) totem. 

Second workshop (two weeks later, same time): Glazing

With your bisque-fired clay ceramic pieces, you will paint them with coloured glazes to be high fired in the kiln. 

All clay, glazes and firings are included in the cost of the classes. Tools required will be provided.
