Whangārei Central Library Sunday closures

Part of the Whangārei Central Library's roof has been leaking and needs replacing. The skylight over the rear stairs will be replaced over a week from Sunday 10 November to Sunday 17 November 2024. 

Sunday closures

Scaffolding will be erected from the ground to the ceiling inside the library around the rear stairs, hence the library will be closed on:

  • Sunday 10 November while the scaffolding is erected and
  • Sunday 17 November while the scaffolding is dismantled.

Closed off areas in the library

While the scaffolding is up, some areas and bookshelves around the rear stairs on the ground and first floors will be closed off to the public.
The closed areas are indicated in red on the floor plans below.
