Kaituhi is a celebration of Tai Tokerau’s literary talent, giving readers and writers the opportunity to interact with each other 1:1 and join lively discussions.

Wendyl Nissen is a prominent New Zealand journalist, writer, and broadcaster who has had a long and successful career in media spanning over 43 years. She has worked as an editor for several high-profile women's magazines in New Zealand and Australia, has been a television producer, writer, radio commentator and columnist and has written 12 books mostly about living a chemical free, old-fashioned life.

Her most recent bestselling book My Mother and Other Secrets details how she discovered stories of new relatives, sad adoptions, harsh parenting and complex marriages while caring for her mother who had dementia.

Wendyl has spent the past decade transitioning from a high-profile media career in Auckland to a more natural, sustainable lifestyle in the Hokianga, while continuing to write and speak on various topics related to health, wellness and caring for others.
