Download eAudiobooks onto your mobile devices using the uLibrary app or stream to your computer with a web browser.

What's needed

To use this service you will need

  • A current membership of Whangarei District Libraries with a valid library card number and PIN.

  • A computer, smartphone or tablet with an internet connection.
  • The uLibrary app or software so you can listen to eAudiobooks on mobile devices or computer.
  • Adobe Digital Edition Software an Adobe ID to authorise your devices for listening to eAudiobooks with DRM copyright protection.

Quick Start - App

To set up the app

  1. Install the uLibrary app on your device.

  2. Type Whangarei Libraries in the Library search box.

  3. Enter your library card number and PIN.

  4. Accept the Terms and Conditions.

You will not be required to log in every time you open the app after this initial set up.

Downloading eAudiobooks

To get an eAudiobook

  1. Browse our great collection of eAudiobooks anytime anywhere! You can search by title, author, narrator and genre.

  2. Read the synopsis and listen to an audio clip of your choice.

  3. Confirm your choice or reserve your title for later.

  4. Download the complete eAudiobook instantly. When reserved titles are ready to download you will receive an email from uLibrary.

  5. Enjoy listening to your eAudiobook everywhere you go.

Alternatively, you can also listen to our digital titles via our website - mp3 files can be downloaded and transferred to a mp3 player.

Lending conditions

Check Outs

4 eAudiobook titles can be checked out at the same time.

Lending periods

There is a choice of lending periods: 7 or 14 days.

The 7 or 14 day loan period begins as soon as the item is activated.

Holds

Yes you can reserve. When you place a hold, it counts towards your total number of checkouts.

The item will automatically activate in your account when it becomes available.

You will receive a notification email from uLibrary.

Renewals

You can renew items even if the title has holds on it. Limit of 2 renewals.

Return early

You can return a title early. Use My Account page or My Loans on the mobile app.

Expired items

On mobile devices eAudiobooks are deleted automatically.

On a computer or mp3 player eAudiobooks have to be manually deleted.
