Afternoon Book Club

Meets at Whangārei Central Library on the first Monday of each month.

Evening Book Club

Meets at Whangārei Central Library on the second Monday of each month.

Tikipunga Book Club

Meets at Tikipunga Library on the first Monday of each month.

Skinny Jump Service Closure

Our Skinny Jump service will be closed from Monday 23 December 2024 until Sunday 5 January 2025. This service will resume on Monday 6 January 2025.

Interloan service suspension

Our interloan service will be suspended over the Christmas/New Year period from Thursday 19 December 2024 to Sunday 12 January 2025.
You can still request interloans using our online service, however we will not start to process them until Monday 13 January 2025.

Genealogy services over the summer holidays

The genealogy volunteers will have a six-week break, beginning Monday 16 December 2024 and ending Monday 27 January 2025.
They will return on Tuesday 28 January 2025.
During this time, ask our friendly library staff for help with self-directed research.

Changes to opening hours

CHRISTMAS NEW YEAR CLOSURE
The library will be closed from Wednesday 25 December 2024 to Friday 3 January 2025.
NEW OPENING HOURS
Starting Thursday 9 January 2025, the library will open Thursday and Friday afternoons, 2:00pm to 5:00pm. It will not open in the mornings on these days.

The library will close early, at 4:00pm on Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24 December 2024.
CHRISTMAS NEW YEAR CLOSURE
The library will be closed from Wednesday 25 December 2024 to Friday 3 January 2025.
NEW OPENING HOURS
Starting Thursday 9 January 2025, the library will open Thursday and Friday mornings, 9:30am to 12:30pm. It will not open in the afternoon on these days.
